Quarter 1 2024 Update
Uptown, our luxury Manchester city centre development is nearing completion and work on site continues to progress incredibly well.
The site teams are working hard to finalise the designs of the required work scopes.
The finishing works including the lobby areas and appliance testing of all apartments are now fully complete, with the current speed of progress we expect the smallest of the three blocks, Graphine, to be complete mid-May and blocks B Enigma and C Element to follow earlier than originally forecasted.
Quarter 4 2023 Update
As we near the end of 2023, we’ve witnessed a remarkable transformation at Uptown, and we eagerly anticipate bringing the project to completion in 2024. Both the one and two-bedroom show apartments in Block C are now complete, and the groundwork for both blocks A and B is also finished.
Electrical work is progressing extremely well across all apartments in all blocks, with the electrical distribution and infrastructure feeding the apartments advancing on schedule. Mechanically, we’ve been busy coordinating ventilation and installing the fresh air system to apartments in blocks A and B, with work on Block C set to recommence shortly.
The lifts to all blocks are commissioned and performing well, providing a fantastic ride quality. While the roofs of all blocks faced some challenges resulting in delays for our subcontractors, we’ve worked closely with them to overcome these issues, and the work is now back on track.

Quarter 3 2023 Update
Over the last three months, there has been a real transformation, both in the skyline and the residential community alongside the river. The shape and form of Uptown have now fully come together as the cladding across all three blocks nears completion, further enhancing the development’s unique identity.
The significant progress on site across the three buildings now gives us a clear sense of the size of each apartment and the overall quality of the development. It also provides an excellent impression of how the buildings stand out while seamlessly blending into the local area. With planned extensive landscaping and the backdrop of the River Irwell becoming such a prominent feature, Uptown is set to be a standout landmark.
Uptown boasts a number of impressive features, including communal roof terraces and private roof terraces for some apartments. As we’ve overcome the challenges of the external elements of the project, considerable progress has been made in the internal areas.
Work at Uptown has really ramped up, and the show apartments are starting to transform. The show apartment element is now complete and ready to be dressed by our interior design team. These apartments highlight their significant size, some 12 percent larger than all other typical apartments in the city, offering a truly unique living experience in the Manchester market.
Each apartment is uncommonly spacious and flooded with natural light from its floor-to-ceiling windows. A blend of high-class fixtures and fittings alongside state-of-the-art Smart Home Technology systems perfectly reflects the lifestyle that Uptown offers.

Quarter 4 2022 Update
Uptown Riverside continues to make strong progress, and we’re particularly delighted to see the exterior cladding looking so striking. Final touches are underway to the outside of the three towers, truly beginning to cement the identity of this unique development.
The majority of internals are now complete, with work on the common areas, including the reception, gym, residence lounge, and extensive external landscaping down to the river, due to begin shortly. Due to recent inclement weather and the prior use of external areas for lay down purposes during the build, commencing the landscaping has faced delays. However, the completed external landscaping will have a huge and positive visual impact on the site, and we are greatly looking forward to seeing this work begin in January.
Work to complete a show apartment is well underway, marking an exciting step in realising the light and space on offer. As this unique site continues to progress, it is clear that the development is set to become a true icon on the Manchester skyline, offering residents all the benefits of both city centre and riverside living.

Quarter 4 2021 Update
2021 has been an exceptionally busy year at Alliance Investments and our most successful yet, as we continue to build on the work carried out throughout a very challenging 2020. Properties across our portfolio, such as Axis, Downtown, Oxygen, Manhattan, and Park Gate, have achieved market-leading levels of occupancy, with waiting lists of tenants looking to move into these buildings as they continue to be extremely popular with residents.
In this update, we focus on Uptown, our flagship riverside development in Manchester, where construction continues at a fast pace across all three towers. We are delighted to say that Block A is topping out at the end of this month, with Blocks B and C to follow in Q1 and Q2 2022, respectively.
The first phase of mechanical and electrical engineering in-store has been completed across all the central cores of the entire development, marking a major milestone for our project. Furthermore, the installation of external cladding is progressing well, climbing up Block A to level six by the end of Q1 2022 and level 7 in Block B by the end of Q2 2022.
All concrete structural remedial works have long been completed and fully signed off and warranted. This again is another important step forward for Uptown, and we’re excited to be positively working towards completion across the site.
Quarter 3 2021 Update
The construction work comprises two separate elements. The first is the on-site concrete structure, ground floor fit-out works, and landscaping. The second is the offsite modular apartment construction. Each apartment is built as two separate modules in factory-controlled conditions. This cutting-edge methodology, working in a controlled environment, helps us ensure a higher-quality finish. Once delivered to site, the modules are installed, commissioned, and sealed to complete the works.
The on-site construction work on the three towers is progressing well. The structural works to both Graphene and Element are now complete, and the central and final core of Enigma is expected to finish in just a few weeks.
