Quarter 1 2024 Update
As the early works at Vision were concluded at the end of 2023, piling works have since commenced in February 2024 due to the vibration monitoring and testing confirming the piling would not affect the nearby Railway line.
Flight augur piles are 13 metres deep and reinforcement steel cylinders have been placed within the pile foundations with a track hydraulic rig for bonding with concrete which has then been poured in.
The hollow augur is screwed into the ground and as it is withdrawn the concrete is pumped through the augur to form the pile shaft to ground level. Once cast the spoil is removed and reinforcement is installed into the wet concrete to ground level.
Quarter 4 2023 Update
The recent progress on Vision means that the development will start to rise from the ground in Q1 2024.
Activity on site is set to ramp up from this point onwards with piling expected to start in early January.
Quarter 3 2023 Update
Vision, our Manchester city centre development will be made up of 37 storeys of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments.
Currently, the steps prior to breaking ground are being put into place such as the installation of vibration monitoring and an application for a temporary traffic regulation order for street closures, which have been approved.
The drainage survey has been conducted, and the necessary steps have been taken in order to allow piling installation and to facilitate the works to remove the existing masonry wall.
Turning over the site and probing piling are now in progress and the drainage connection has commenced. Within the next 4 weeks, the drainage connection will be completed and then a chamber in the location of the existing lamp hole will be constructed, this will involve the removal of the existing lamp hole and constructing the maintenance hole in its place.
Once turning over the site is completed piling mats will be installed, sheet piles will be installed in elevation and the existing wall will be removed.
